2012 Shamus Award Nomination

 

The Ocean Forest was nominated for a Shamus Award for Best First PI Novel by the Private Eye Writers of America.

Someone once said writers are ego maniacs with low self-esteem.  It really is true.  The road to writing is littered with rejection and you have to learn to embrace all that rejection while still believing in what you're doing.  Along the way, if you're lucky, you have those positive moments that make it all worth it.

This was one of those moments.  A big one, in fact.

I was thrilled that the PWA chose to include my book with the nominees.  It is a true honor to even have been considered for such a prestigious award and I am humbled to have been included with such great talents of our genre.

Although The Ocean Forest did not win, I will always count this as a victory for myself, my family, my friends and my readers.
